Morgane Billuart’s RietveldTV episode engages with one of the diverse forms of belief and spirituality to be found on Youtube – manifestations and subliminal music – and how this is used to regulate the menstruation cycle. The film weaves together autobiographical with fictional elements in a clean, beige atmosphere, but soon the smooth surface of the stock image is rippled and the story takes a disturbing twist, leading to an urgent quest, down a vortex of deep research and finally to a discovery within.

RietveldTV is Gerrit Rietveld Academie’s monthly TV show. It is broadcast every last Sunday at 10pm by SALTO1 and afterwards forever online on Vimeo. Every month an alum is invited to use the set frame of a 12-minute episode for the development of a new moving image work. Since 2023, every academic year a curatorial team consisting of four students from different departments and academic years is found through an Open Call. The team is guided in their collective process by Public & Projects and a RietveldTV coordinator who is also a Rietveld alum.
